For most people, turning 18 is one of the major milestones in life. In England, it gives you the right to buy cigarettes and alcohol, to gamble and to vote. So my dad and my sister felt it right to throw me a great party, with great people, great music, great food and great cake.
I'd actually attended a birthday party on the 4th July and so I was still out with my friends Josh and Jordan and my boyfriend when the clock struck midnight, a moment Josh caught on camera [x]
At the party my friends bombarded me with more gifts, which were all amazing and a lot were edible which is even more amazing. My first legal drink was Southern Comfort and lemonade, which is a drink I suggest you try if you don't like the taste of hard liquor or beer.
We ate from God's buffet; chicken, hummus, pizza and pasta. Oh and my personal favourite, mini bread rolls. I was then called up to do a speech (which I thought I'd improvised pretty well... until three hours later when I realised I'd forgotten to thank my family for paying for the night...) and cake-cutting, which was hard since the cake had three tiers and I didn't know where to cut!
We danced to all the classics and I tried my best to get round and socialise with everyone, but anyone who's been in that situation before knows how hard it is to keep everyone happy at every second.
At night I was so exhausted I literally went home, put my pajamas on, curled up into a ball and fell asleep.
